December 2024: What Lessons Are You Taking Into 2025?

Hi, Practice families!👋

Happy almost-new year!  I hope that you’re all enjoying at least a little peaceful and relaxing time with family (and at least a little peaceful and relaxing time ALONE!).

I’m not really big on New Year’s resolutions, but I do like the way in which the end of one year (and beginning of another) offers the opportunity for us to pause and reflect on what we’ve learned or what’s worked for us during this past year and what we might want to take with us into the new year ahead.

This year, I’ve learned so much– about myself, about parenthood, about managing a business and running a team. Not all of those lessons have been particularly pleasant 😬– this year was a stressful and challenging one in a number of different ways– but all of those lessons have been important, and almost certainly helpful to hang on to as I move forward.

This is growth mindset in action– knowing that we can grow through what we go through– and really making an effort to take what we learn by making mistakes or managing difficult moments and doing our best to apply that knowledge as we move forward.

So, as we stare down the close of the year, let me ask you this:  what’s one thing you’ve learned this year?

Check out thoughts from our team (including me!) on our Instagram, here. And consider using this question as a conversation prompt at your family dinner table this NYE!

Looking forward to continuing to learn and grow together in the new year.  Sending lots of warmth and light to each and every one of you and your families this holiday season– thank you for letting me and our team at Practice be part of your and your families’ journeys!

Warmly,

Nina Kaiser, Ph.D.
